Thailand's renowned Full Moon Party is every bit as exhilarating as the rumours suggest. Each month, Koh Phangan becomes a magnet for 10,000 to 30,000 adventure-seeking backpackers, all gathering for an unforgettable all-night beach party that coincides with the full moon.
The party features an array of attractions: top international DJs take over the beachfront, spinning a diverse mix of trance, hip-hop, drum & bass, and reggae until the first light of dawn. The festivities are heightened by fire skipping ropes and the infamous 'buckets' – a staple of the Full Moon Party experience – ensuring a night filled with non-stop dancing and entertainment.

A Note on Safety and Well-being
The Full Moon Party is an unparalleled spectacle and a true bucket-list experience. It's a place where the energy is infectious, and it's easy to get swept up in the wild, carefree spirit. However, while the party's vibrant atmosphere may remind you of music festivals back home, complete with familiar party elements, we strongly advise against engaging in drug use.
The presence of police is conspicuous at these events, with officers in uniform and many more undercover amidst the crowds. Authorities have been vocal about their crackdown on drug use at the party. Be wary of anyone offering substances – there's a high chance they're in cahoots with the police, targeting unsuspecting tourists. Additionally, in an environment where alcohol flows freely, always be cautious about accepting drinks from strangers and keep a close eye on your drink.
Regarding the fire-skipping ropes mentioned earlier – it's worth considering the risks. It may seem thrilling, but the aftermath often includes regretful, bandaged party-goers nursing injuries. Remember, attempting to jump over a flaming rope on sandy terrain while impaired is far from a wise decision.
Lastly, navigating the beach during the party can be a challenge. The sands are littered with hazards like broken glass and discarded cigarettes. Wearing proper footwear is essential to protect yourself from these unexpected obstacles. Stay safe and enjoy the party responsibly!
Travel Arrangements for the Full Moon Party
We offer a 5-day Full Moon Party tour that includes all your transportation, accommodation, and a boat trip to Koh Tao.
The Full Moon Party is an unforgettable night of neon colours, energetic music, and beachside revelry. Immerse yourself in a sea of colourful paint and glitter, dancing on one of Thailand's most stunning beaches. While we believe the Full Moon Party isn't the pinnacle of Thai experiences, it's a must-try for those who relish the idea of dancing till dawn with a global crowd.
If you're travelling to the party independently, a common route is to fly into either Bangkok or Phuket and then take a domestic flight to Koh Samui or Surat Thani. From there, you can catch a ferry directly to Koh Phangan. Ferries run frequently and offer a scenic ride across the Gulf of Thailand, dropping you off at Thong Sala Pier. Once on the island, taxis and songthaews are readily available to take you to Haad Rin, the location of the Full Moon Party.
